Constitution, together with the Eli gibility and Contest Regu- lations as published in the Handbook, are important if effective and fair treatment is to be provided all participants. The test is derived from the MHSAA Officials Guidebook, which also is available on the official’s page of the MHSAA website. The highest total of officials registered for basketball, 3,960, with football also with more than 2,000 registered officials during this past school year. The MHSAA Officials Guidebook has two purposes: First, it is intended to provide prospective officials with the information necessary to determine if they have the desire, ability and character to become one of the essential ingredients to interscholastic athletics in Michigan.

With ever-increasing numbers of student-athlete participants, the need for knowledgeable, experienced and qualified officials is greater than ever. It’s Official! The MHSAA 2019-2020 Officials Guidebook is availabe here and on MHSAA.COM. The MHSAA annually receives registration by more than 9,000 officials, and had 9,256 during the 2019-20 school year. The highest total of officials registered for basketball (3,960) as football generated more than 2,000 registrations. There will be a test, based off the MHSAA Officials Guidebook, for first-time officials as well as returning officials who were not registered for the previous athletic year.
